    This blog posting has probably been a long time in coming, but several news items and other blogs from this weekend have now pushed it to the top.

    The idea started this past weekend as I was reading KCDogBlog's posting on a proposed ordinance in Worchester, MA to place restrictions on pit bull ownership. In his comments afterward, Brent said something very telling and it bears repeating here:

  2. A Dog's Purpose? (from a 6-year-old)

    A veterinarian was called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

    Belker's exam found he was dying of cancer. The veterinarian told the family nothing could be done for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
